How to customize and change the names of building and room selection

Before customizing Buildings and Rooms in the Building and Rooms Selections Page, you must first set up the fields for Customers and Back Office Users to use.

While Building and Room customization is setup by the Implementations Team during the onboarding process, it's important to know how Building and Room Fields work and appear in the Back Office. This will allow you the freedom to edit Buildings and Rooms as necessary.

  1. Go to Setup > Online Ordering > Options.

  2. Scroll down to 'Additional Delivery Options.' Configuration related to how customers submit delivery information related to Buildings and Rooms can be in this section.

    1. If Buildings or Rooms will be selected by the customer from a drop-down list, an additional button for Building and Rooms Selections will be available.


Building Options

  • If Customers should choose the Building as a drop-down selection from a list, check Enable Building Field as Selection. This is great if you operate at a Headquarters or Campus with a designated collection of Buildings.

    • If you cater to a variety of addresses not predetermined, you might leave this field blank so Customers can type their own Building and Room names.
      ​

  • If Customers shouldn't have the option to specify a Building, check Hide Delivery Building Field. This will prevent the field from showing up in the Back Office and the Online Ordering Page when creating an Order.
    ​

  • If you want to rename the Building field to a name that better matches your catering operation, check Enable Delivery Building Rename. This will allow you to customize the information Customers provide for their delivery location.

    • This might be renamed to Department, Office Building, Suite No., etc.

Room Options

  • If Customers should choose both Buildings and Rooms as a drop-down selection from a list, check Enable Building and Room Fields as Selections. This is great if you operate at a Headquarters or Campus with a designated collection of Buildings that have specific Floors, Rooms or Suites.

    • If you cater to a variety of addresses not predetermined, you might leave this field blank so Customers can type their own Building and Room names.
      ​

  • If Customers shouldn't have the option to specify a Building, check Hide Room Field. This will prevent the field from showing up in the Back Office and the Online Ordering Page when creating an Order.
    ​

  • If you want to rename the Room field to a name that better matches your catering operation, check Enable Delivery Room Rename. This will allow you to customize the information Customers provide for their delivery location.

    • This might be renamed to Floor, Suite No., Training Room, etc.



Building and Room Fields can both be made mandatory selection before finalizing a Delivery Order. Reach out to a Customer Success Specialist for more help if you'd like to enable this feature.
