How to customize and change the names of building and room selection

Before customizing Buildings and Rooms in the Building and Rooms Selections Page, you must first set up the fields for Customers and Back Office Users to use.

While Building and Room customization is setup by the Implementations Team during the onboarding process, it's important to know how Building and Room Fields work and appear in the Back Office. This will allow you the freedom to edit Buildings and Rooms as necessary.

  1. Go to Setup > Online Ordering > Options.

  2. Scroll down to 'Additional Delivery Options.'

  3. After filling in the necessary information, click the orange button called 'Building and Room Selection' to go to the Building and Rooms Selections Page.

Enable and Customize the Building Field

  • Check 'Enable Building Field as Selection' to enable a drop down list of pre-written Buildings that the Customer can choose from. This is great if you service a Headquarters or Campus with pre-established Buildings that you cater to.

    • If you cater to a variety of addresses not predetermined, you might leave this field blank so Customers can type their own Building and Room names.

  • Check 'Hide Room Field' to keep this field from showing up in the Back Office and the Online Ordering Page when placing an Order.

  • Check 'Enable Delivery Building Rename' to rename the Room Field to a name that better matches where you cater to and how Customers need to define their delivery location.

    • This might be renamed to Department, Suite No., etc.

Enable and Customize the Room Field

  • Check 'Enable Building and Room Field as Selection' to enable a drop down list of pre-written Buildings and Rooms that the Customer can choose from. This is great if you service a Headquarters or Campus with pre-set Departments that you cater to.

    • If you cater to a variety of addresses not predetermined, you might leave this field blank so Customers can type their own Building and Room names.

  • Check 'Hide Room Field' to keep this field from showing up in the Back Office and the Online Ordering Page when placing an Order.

  • Check 'Enable Delivery Room Rename' to rename the Room Field to a name that better matches where you cater to and how Customers need to define their delivery location.

    • This might be renamed to Floor, Suite No., etc.



Building and Room Fields can both be made mandatory selection before finalizing a Delivery Order. Reach out to a Spoonfed Customer Success Partner for more help if you'd like to enable this feature.


What is a Building?

  • A Building is a main location area that can contain multiple rooms.

  • Buildings might also be called Departments, Floors, Offices, etc.

  • Buildings can have specific availabilities to adjust with seasonal hours and openings.

What is a Room?

  • A Room is a section within a Building. Multiple Rooms can be held within one Building.

  • Rooms might also be called Suite No., Floor, Office No., etc.

  • Rooms can have specific availabilities to adjust with seasonal hours and openings.
