If you've created a Menu but notice that it's Items don't show up on the Online Ordering Site, it might be that you haven't actually added Items. When creating a Menu, there are two essential components to successfully display and order it:

  • Section

  • Item

If you've made a Menu but it looks blank on the Online Ordering Site, you may have added a Section, but left out the Items!

An incomplete Menu with no Sections or Items added might look like below. You can't add this Menu to any Order.

Add Items to the Menu to fix it. When Items are included, the Menu shows up like this on the Online Ordering Site:

A complete Menu looks like this in the Back Office:

Section

A Section is the first part of a Menu to make. Sections categorize Items or groups of Items. They can contain one Item to be automatically included in the Menu. They can also contain multiple Items to create choices for the Customer to select from. A Section without an Item is incomplete as it contains no data to send to the kitchen.

Item

An Item must be added to a Section to make the Menu valid to order. Items are the data of a Menu that gets sent to the kitchen to fulfil.

Understanding the difference in these two Menu Components is essential to creating a Menu that Customers can actually order from. Now that you know the difference, you can craft your new Menus like a pro!
