What to do when a card is declined or payment wont go through

There are a few reasons why a credit card might not charge on Spoonfed.

Card Declined

The most common reason for a credit card payment to not go through is that the information on the credit card was entered in wrong. If a red Error Message Box pops up and says "Card Declined," this is often a user error on the customer side.

Ask your customer to re-enter the credit card details, and double check that the billing address is correct, if this was requested.

Card Details Not in the System

An order might be confirmed, but that doesn't always mean that a customer has yet entered their credit card information. If you select the Charge button in the Awaiting Payments Tab, but the charge doesn't go through, this might be the case.

Find the Customer and Contact associated with this order. If they don't have a credit card on file, you must request this information from them, or ask that they input the information themselves on their Spoonfed Profile.

Card is not Validated or Pre-Authorized

If you are in the Awaiting Payments Tab and trying to Charge an Order that won't go through, you might need to Validate or Pre-Authorize the Credit Card, depending on Payment settings.

To find this, you will go into Payment Tab of the Specific Order.

Order Not Confirmed

You can check if an order is Confirmed or Unconfirmed in two places.

To Confirm an Order, click the Confirm Order button at the bottom of an Order page.

Conclusion

When a credit card payment won't go through, you sometimes need to do a bit of investigating to figure out why this is. These are the most common reasons and should help to clarify why charging a credit card doesn't work.
