Group Orders are Orders created for large groups who each want to choose their own meal. Group Orders allow a Customer to start an Order and then send invitations to other guests attending the same event. The guests use the link to select their own food and drink choices.

Activate Group Order Feature

Before Customers can place Group Orders, the feature must be activated in the Back Office. Group Orders incur an extra monthly fee, so make sure you discuss activating this feature with your team before turning it on.

Create a Group Order

Group Orders can only be created from the Online Ordering Site.

  1. A Customer must first log in to create a Group Order.

  2. Then click 'Group Order' on the main landing page.

  3. Just like with a Regular Order, choose if the Order is for Delivery or Pick-Up.

  4. Select the Date and Time then click Continue.

  5. The next screen allow the initiator of the Group Order to choose different limitations for the guests.

  6. Once filled out, click Continue.

Location Choice

Allows guests to enter their own building or room location. This is a good choice if the Group Order is for people in an office, who may be spread out across rooms and departments.

Max Spend

Choose the maximum amount each guest can spend per Order selection. A guest won't be able to submit their selection if they go above this Max Spend amount.

Guest Selection Deadline

Guests must submit their selection by this time, or not have any selection made at all. The Selection Deadline defaults to the Lead Time or Cut-Off Time set in the system, minus 1 hour. This allows the initiator of the Order enough time to review and finalize the Order prior to the deadline.

Send Group Order to Guests

The next screen allows the initiator to send the Group Order link to guests by email. They can also copy the URL link and send it to Guests so they can make their Item Selection choices.

Once the Cut Off Time for guests to make their choices passes, the initiator receives an email prompting them to close and complete the order. Any guest who misses the deadline won't get to make their own group order choice.

Complete the Order

Once the guest selection deadline is past, or every guest chooses their food, the Group Order Initiator must complete the Order.

  1. In the Profile, go to Group Orders.

  2. Find the Group Order.

  3. Review the Menu Choices if necessary.

  4. Click Complete Order.

  5. Each Menu Choice shows up in the Order Basket under the guest's name.

  6. Add any other Menus if needed, then click Place Your Order.

  7. Complete the Checkout for the Order.

  8. Click Confirm.

  9. An Order Confirmation Page appears with a receipt of the Order sent to the Group Order Initiator's Email.

That's how to create a Group Order as a Customer!
