Add Calorie Label to Menus

If you'd like to let Customers know how many calories are in a dish Spoonfed makes it easy by allowing you to input how many Calories are in a given portion of food.

Turn on Calorie Labeling

First, make sure the feature is turned on in the system. If you don't see the option to add Calorie Labels in a Menu, ask a Spoonfed Support Specialist to turn on this feature.

Choose to call this section Calories, KJ, or KCAL, depending on how your region identifies calories.

Add Calories

Steps

  1. Start in the Items Page of the Menu Module.

  2. Find the Item to add Calories to. Click Edit.

  3. Find the Portion and Energy Value Section.

    1. Enter how much each portion of calories is counted for in 'Base Energy Value'.

    2. In the Measure box, select what type of measurement.

  4. Enter the Calorie amount in 'Base Energy Value (Calories)'.

  5. If there is a range of calories, enter the top range in 'Upper Energy value (Calories').

  6. 'Display Suffix' will be how the calories are called on the Online Ordering Site.

  7. When finished, click Save.


Add Calories to a Fixed Price Menu

Steps

In a Fixed Price Menu, you can add the total amount of calories on the Menu Details Tab.

  1. Start on the Menu Page of the Menu Module.

  2. Click Edit near the Menu to add Calories to.

  3. In the Details Tab, scroll down to the Portions and Energy Value Section.

    1. Enter how much each portion of calories is counted for in 'Base Energy Value'.

    2. In the Measure box, select what type of measurement.

    3. Enter the Calorie amount in 'Base Energy Value (Calories)'.

    4. If there is a range of calories, enter the top range in 'Upper Energy value (Calories').

    5. 'Display Suffix' will be how the calories are called on the Online Ordering Site.

  4. When finished, click Save.
