The Top Contacts report exports an Excel spreadsheet that shows data regarding a set amount of Top Contacts over a given time period.

When to Use the Report

This Report is useful to see who your most frequent Contacts are, especially if multiple Contacts are listed under one Customer or organization. This might help you choose to 'reward' them with a Payment Voucher, or send them a note thanking them for their service.

'Top Contacts' is different from a Top Customer Report since the data given is for the Contacts within a Customer. If you organize Customers as organizations or departments, the Contacts would be the individuals ordering from within this specific department. The Top Contacts would group sales by this individual, rather than the larger department/Customer they call under. It can help you know who within the organization is placing the most Orders and generating the most sales.

Generate the Report

To generate the Report, go to the Reports Module. Click Top Contacts.

  1. Choose the top number of Contacts you'd like to see. In this example, we're viewing the Default, Top 10.

  2. Select two Date Ranges to compare. If you only want to see the Top Customers for one specific range, select a few days for the second Date and ignore it in the Report.

  3. A user can view data for Sites that they have User access to. If you want to see a specific Site or Location, select which one, or else select 'All'.

  4. Click Generate Report.

The report lists the following:

  • Contact Name (with Customer Name in parenthesis)

  • Contact Email

  • Date of First Order

  • Total Order Value Over the Time Period Selected

  • Value as a Percentage of the Report

  • Total Orders Contact has made

  • Average Value of Contact Orders in Each Time Period.

The Report shows the results of Date Range 1 above those of Date Range 2, separated by a two row break.

The Total Data of all the Customers will be shown at the bottom of each Date Range, without a Customer Name.

That is how you generate a Top Customers Report!

If you are a business that typically identifies Customers as individuals, in which the Contact and the Customer are the same, you might find the Top Customer Report more useful.
