The Top Contacts report exports an Excel spreadsheet showing your most important customer contacts over two selected periods of time.

It's a quick way to see who your most valued contacts are, and how quickly they have become so. You can also see a dip in order numbers. Email addresses are provided so that you can act on the knowledge, thanking a valued customer or perhaps offering them a discount voucher to order again.

The report lists each:

  • contact name (with customer name in brackets)
  • their email
  • the date of their first order
  • their total order value over the time period selected
  • that value as a percentage of the report
  • the number of orders they have made
  • and the average value of their orders in each time period.

To run the report, go to the Reports module and select Top Contacts. In the 'Top' field select the number of contacts you want on the report. The default is 10, but the report can be run for all your contacts or just a few.

The report as standard runs for all sites that the User has access to. This can be changed from 'All' to a specific site.

Then select the two date ranges. These do not need to be the same length, so for a quick non-comparative ranking of contacts, the second field can be filled in, with the results being ignored on the export.

Click Generate Report and the Excel file will be downloaded.

The Report shows the results of Date Range 1 above those of Date Range 2.
