When a Contact self-registers online, they are automatically saved as a New Customer on Spoonfed. If the person should be a Contact under a Business Customer, we want to transfer them in the back office.

Watch a short video here:

If a client Registers Online, they may create a duplicate Customer. For security purposes, a New Contact can't assign themselves to a Business Customer.

If this occurs, simply transfer the New Contact into the correct Customer. This will help for more convenient invoicing and account management.

Find the Customer and navigate to the Contact Tab. Select View/Edit.

Scroll down to the Transfer Contact Box. Start typing the Customer name you want to transfer the Contact into. An autofill selection will allow you to choose the Customer.

Click Transfer.

The transferred Contact will show up under the Customer's Contact Tab.

From there, you can/should delete the Customer that you transferred the Contact from. This will help keep your records clear and prevent a fellow Caterer from accidentally placing an order under an invalid Customer's name.

Additional Information

Moving a Contact a new Customer won't move previous Orders made by that Contact. These Orders will still be accessible under the original Customer. Because of this, it's important to Transfer a Contact immediately before they can place any orders under the wrong Customer.

It can also help to only create Contacts for businesses in the back office.

Any cards stored on the Contact's account will transfer with them. If a card payment has been Pre-Authorized without Final Payment, the transfer will invalidate the Pre-Auth. You will have to Re-Authorize the Card to take Final Payment.
